Wow, you obviously are here because you are interested in being an E-radio online DJ.  Being a DJ for outlawradio is not like any other internet radio station you have ever worked for before.  We always try to be unique and we try to do something that no one else is doing or has thought about doing.  Below please find the things you will need to bring to the table with you when you sit down to spin the tunes and entertain the masses.

The most important thing you can bring to the DJ circle is a good sense of humor and the ability to have fun and enjoy what you are doing.  Since you are not getting paid to do this you need a good reason to want to do this.  Having fun is a good reason, playing music for people while chatting is another good reason, and most importantly, being able to be the brunt of a joke and being able to laugh at yourself.  So if you have that then you are more then half way there.  Here comes the technical stuff that gets into the nuts and bolts of this little party

1000 mp3 files per hour of ON AIR time.  Simply put if you want to do a 3 hour show you need at a minimum 3000 mp3 files.  If you are going to be genre specific then you need these files in the specific genre you are going to play.  You are NOT required to take "Off Genre" requests if you do not want to.  You can obtain your music any way that you feel good about.  The Hole in the Wall Gang will gladly help you if you are looking for something specific and have trouble finding it on the web. I am sure between all of us we have close to 100,000 songs that we will share.

A computer of course, minimum of 1.5 GIG CPU speed, 333MHZ FSB speed, 512 Megs of Ram and enough Hard Drive storage to store everything on there.

SAM broadcaster by Spacial Audio.  (Talk to Bandit-1, the boss about this) This is the only program you are allowed to use if you want to work for Outlawradio for the following reasons.  Reason #1 and the most important. ONLINE LIVE DJ requests.  We have set up the request line so that not only can a song be requested to be played on the streamer, BUT each DJ will load their own playlist before their show and allow the listeners to make online requests of them.  Along with our yahoo request line and PM's and chat. Yes, you can get awfully busy while you are on the air. The Other reason that only SAM is allowed is simply because I want everyone to have the same software, it makes setting things up much easier and there is much less I have to retain to be able to keep each person's system running.

You will need access to your Modem/router to be able to port forward one of the ports.  That is used by the webpage to put the online requests in your playing queue

A headset with a boom microphone on it for monitoring and talking purposes. 

Logmein Free version installed on your computer so that our Tech department can access your system (ONLY AT YOUR REQUEST) to repair problems or work out solutions for conflicts, it is much easier then trying to explain it step by step in a chat window or over the phone.

Yahoo Messenger installed on your system so that you can have the Yahoo Request Line loaded during your show.

And, finally, if you want to be a DJ you have to be able to get along with everyone.  When you are on the air you represent Outlawradio, so that means you need to worry about the music and not the members of the opposite sex.  We are all here to have fun and this is part of it. When you are not on the air perv all you want. But, when you are on the air....please be the DJ (disk jockey) and not the DJ (Dumb Jerk)
